Flying Ryan Air in clear weather over Lago di Vernago in the Southern Tryol Alps took me into Bologna where the David Bowie retrospective is currently being shown. We flew over the Ötztal Alps where Fineilspitze mountain (left centre overlooking Lago di Vernago) was the location of the find of Ötzi the Iceman.
Though I had a ticket for the original 2103 launch at the V&A I wasnt able to go – so this was a long-desired chance.
Mambo is a building , just within the city walls of Bologna, dedicated to visual culture and experimentation.
With more than 300 Bowie objects including original costumes, handwritten lyrics, photos, music videos, set designs, Bowie’s own instruments and album artwork it is an amazing review of Bowies own artistic life.
