Oman does have far more than its share of Falcons and Eagles.
But despite knowing that, I was delighted to come across this unexpected sight when walking in the mountain – Sooty Falcons (Falco concolor) chicks resting on a ledge.
I was only alerted to them when another flew overhead calling out. These birds breed in Oman and migrate from as far away as Madagascar so it was a really nice thing to see.
