Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Saudi Arabia’s Prince Mohammed bin Salam Al Saud, Oman’s Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said and other Gulf leaders at King Abdul Aziz International Convention Centre on December 9, 2022. This is during the GCC Meeting Riyadh 2022. Despite the attendance of the Chinese President, only 2 Gulf heads of state attended – Qatar & Bahrain.

during the 43rd session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit at King Abdul Aziz International Convention Centre on Decmber 9, 2022.
Saudi Arabia and China have signed agreements at around $30bn during this visit. These include with Huawei Technologies for cloud computing, data centres and cutting-edge buildings. Other agreements are for including green hydrogen, information technology, transport and construction.
In addition to the Gulf leaders, other rulers who will be in Riyadh include Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Tunisian President Kais Saied, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Sudan’s leader Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch and Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati .
This is a comparable occasion to the one in Saudi Arabia where Donald Trump memorably touched a globe.
