Gershwin and Mendelssohn at the Royal Opera House

We enjoyed an evening of Gershwin and Felix Mendelssohn at the Royal Opera House,

while Thunder & Lightning played outside around Muscat.
Gershwin’s music was An American in Paris and Rhapsody in Blue with piano performance by Alexei Volodin, the acoustics of the auditorium showed off the individual performers superbly. Mendelssohn’s Symphony no 4 appropriately ‘The Italian’ was played ‘molto vivace’ by the young orchestra making for a very bright end to the evening.
