OFFICIAL HOLIDAYS IN OMAN ARE ANNOUNCED for 2023 by Sultan Haitham bin Tariq

Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tariq issued a royal decree about 2023 official holidays in the Sultanate. They will be

The day Sultan Haitham assumed power  (this is a new addition) 11th January –

Isra and Miraj 27th Rajab, about 18th February –

Eid Al-Fitr from 29th Ramadan until 3rd Shawwal, roughly 22nd April 2023 for 3 days –

Eid Al-Adha from 9th to 12th Dhul-Hijjah, roughly 29th June 2023 for 3 days –

Hijri New Year 1st Muharram, about Saturday the 30th of July 2023 –

Prophet Mohammed’s birthday 12th of Rabi’ al-Awwal, about 27th September 2023 and

National Day 18th November & additionally 19th.

These dates are mostly based on the Islamic calendar – which advances through a solar (Gregorian) year. Additionally each day starts at sunset and continues untill the next sunset. This is why they are indications rather than absolute.
