Oman Air have introduced the first of their two extra daily flights into Muscat from Heathrow as part of their increase in capacity both in terms of aircraft and ground facilities when the new terminal opens at Muscat International Airport. From April 12th 2016 flight WY104 will leave Heathrow at 08:25 and arrive into Muscat at 18:50, the new return WY103 will leave Muscat at 01:25 and arrive into Heathrow at 06:30, an immediate doubling of Oman Air flights from London to Muscat.

They still have one extra slot to use following their record breaking purchase of extra slots at Heathrow when Oman Air paid a record $75 million for a pair of take-off and landing slots. Oman Air CEO Peter Gregorowitsch has said “We are growing to 10 million guests on board,….and we are going to do that in 2020, with 70 aircraft and 75 destinations”; which will be up from 50 destinations at the moment.

Oman Air’s increase in capacity is supported with new leisure and business facilities in Oman. These include the Oman Convention Centre and over 3,000 new hotel rooms being completed over the next couple of years.
