This will be three floors in height with 1,800,000 litres for the inhabitants, designed by the Australian company Advanced Aquariums. It is likely to be the largest in the Middle East with an intended 30,000 animals including sharks, rays, octopus, penguins and crocodiles – a veritable kaleidoscope of the animal kingdom.
There will also be Corals from Oman’s seas along with fish, including a Clownfish Amphiprion omanensis, endemic to Oman and presumably Bubble-tip anemone Entacmaea quadricolor and Sebae anemone Heteractis crispa with which the fish has a symbiotic relationship.
The mall in which the aquarium is located is ‘Mall of Muscat’ in As Sib, west of the airport (I guess the mall is having what should be called a ‘soft opening’).
