Each 8th January is Oman Environment Day. One of the things that affects the environment is plastic especially as for so many people they dump it without any thought.

The result is it looks unsightly, pollutes the land with chemicals, gets eaten by all sorts of animals both domestic

and wild which almost leads to their death, gets washed into the sea where sea life and sea birds may eat it.

If animals eat plastic it fills their stomach – here Dr Ulrich Wernery has collected up to 30kg of plastic from dead Camels stomachs! In Ras Al Khaimah he calls one place ‘Death Valley’ as there are so many dead Camels and in this article they say 50% of Camels in the UAE die from eating Plastic!
