Al Bandar in the Oman Shangri-la resort was the venue for the Oman Equestrian Federation annual presentation ceremony and I was delighted to sit down and enjoy the evening.
Oman has a thriving interest in Equestrian affairs and I enjoy the chance to spectate at races in different regions of Oman as some often remarkably elegant horses, both Arab and Thoroughbred, race and are sometimes simply shown off.
The Minister of Sports made presentations and later we enjoyed a splendid Dinner in the main function room. Al Bandar itself was hosting 3 other events and I nearly was purloined into the IATA function next door.
Both my car and I enjoyed our latest visit to the Toyota service facility. Open for only a few days it gives the impression of being a state of the art car production factory. About a 100meters in length and a couple of floors in height it is most impressive. For simple period servicing a bewildering array of tubes and equipment become attached to the vehicle and as if by magic the operation is finished; if more complex repairs are needed the car moves through the complex until the work is complete.
