After a great overnight in the Wihibah Sands desert on this Oman guided tour, my small group travelled north towards Nizwa (see the earlier days on this Oman Small Group Tour). Our first stop was to see how local women are continuing the traditional craft of Camel Bone Carving.

As this was a Wednesday we also called into Ibra – where the ladies in the group enjoyed the Women’s Souq

and all the men took in the general market; full of activity but not much for us to buy.

We stopped into one of Oman’s charming forts set overlooking an extensive Omani Date Oasis, where lunch was also taken.

The holiday period necessitated a visit into Nizwa Souq on the less busy Thursday morning, if compared to a Friday.

However, there was still plenty of action and lots of cute young animals to tempt us. The final day of our small group guided tour in Oman also took us to an Omani Bee Keeper, which was an engrossing experience as fortunately, Omani Honey Bees are very quiet.

Perhaps more interesting and enjoyable was lunch – a very traditional Omani style meal and I encouraged everyone to use hands as is done in Oman.

Finally, after an action-packed Christmas break – the Millennium Resort gave a fantastic final night in Oman.
