Among the investments in Oman by Qatar organisations is by Qatari Diar. It is intended to invest in a project in Ras Al Hadd. There will be a substantial development of 5* Hotels, Boutique Resort and Residential Properties along with a Wildlife Centre, Observation Park and Marine Reserve, with a focus on Green Turtles. The focus of this project will be the Sea Lagoon at Ras Al Hadd and is a joint project with Oman’s Omran. Mohsin Al Balushi was the Director General of Tourism, when tourism was organised under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, so this project might have been discussed.

Qatar Airways has also substantially increased its flights into Oman from Doha, with three airports used as destinations, Muscat, Salalah and Sohar. As a special airport has also been built at Ras Al Hadd, doubtless they will fly there as well.

More projects to come as Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim Al Thani has a personal interest in Oman.
