Queen Elizabeth arrives in Oman at 8pm last night. The Queen & Prince Philip were welcomed on arrival by Sultan Qaboos.
Sayyid Haitham the Minister of Heritage and Culture who is behind the Queens left shoulder will be her escort.
The Queen is staying with the Sultan in his home at Bait al Baraka before the official welcome . This should be quite a feast for the eyes as not only are there lots of folk-law troops but the weather in Muscat is like champagne – bright and sparkly.
The palace where the official welcome will take place looks very nice and its also good to see the British flag flying there – probably the last time it flew so close was when the old embassy was next door to the palace.
