David Bowie is…in Bologna

Flying Ryan Air in clear weather over Lago di Vernago in the Southern Tryol Alps took me into Bologna where the David Bowie is…in Bologna retrospective  is currently being shown. We flew over the Ötztal Alps where Fineilspitze mountain (left centre overlooking Lago di Vernago) was the location of the find of Ötzi the Iceman.

Islamic Art in London

Though the cyclone & heavy rain in Oman during 2007 was a shock, it was extraordinary to then holiday in Britain during some of its worst flooding for many years. Fortunately, apart from a short visit to St Antony’s College in Oxford, I was well away from the flooding.
