Happy New Year from Oman

What a nice start to the New Year in Oman – snow on the mountains a few days ago and dazzingly clear skys in Muscat.

Of course its going to be a year full of the unexpected, but a certainty is that there will be but lots of 1’s – as here on 1/1/11 .

Eagles and White Stork in Oman

Driving down from Muscat I arrived in Salalah just as the first of the White Storks and migratory Eagles arrived for the winter .

The storks spread through the hills feeding on insects; they also congregate in an area next to hundreds of eagles.
