These two books are available to own both through Amazon and bookshops. Bradt's 4th guide to Oman (December 2016) has completely rewritten regional chapters and maps which cover Oman from the tip of Musandam's peninsula, through to the hotels near the border with Yemen.
Walking Through History covers Oman’s 13 World Heritage Sites . The Bradt guide is available through Bradt. Both books are available through our Amazon affiliate (click on either book image) and your good local book shop.
This book was a pleasure to work on - as I was also lecturing on a small 100 passenger 'expedition' ship. In November 2012 I stepped on board the small cruise ship 'Clipper Odyssey' as a lecturer. We cruised between Qatar and Oman and visited the Islamic Museum and Burj Al Arab, in addition to the very familiar places in Oman. I wrote about the exploration and provided a few images for a souvenir book 'Sands of Time' sent to each participant.
These booklets represent a project in co-operation with Oman's Ministry of Tourism. In 2013, after sponsoring the UNESCO book, Oman’s Ministry of Tourism asked me to provide texts (there would be a separate booklet for Arabic & English) , maps and images for a booklet on Dhofar in southern Oman. Following that, in 2014 they wanted the same work done for each of Oman’s 10 other governorates. These 22 booklets, of up to 74pages, give an idea of the tourism in each governorate in Oman.
Below are some magazine and newspaper articles I wrote. Each is available to you as a PDF - click on an image and it will download / open.
