I arrived in Dubai to join Zegrahm’s ‘Sands of Time’ cruise and the ‘Clipper Odyssey’ to give lectures on board about this region to the passengers.
Remarkably Zegrahm’s had booked me into the hotel I slept in when first visiting Dubai in 1986, the Hyatt Regency. The hotel must have been refurbished since then but its essence remains, including the fantastic revolving restaurant with great views over the creek of Dubai and beyond.
The next day we ascended Burj Khalifa and took lunch in Atlantis, which frankly was overwhelming with a strange layout for the buffet and food not as good as the Hyatt’s and finished a fantastic day with a yacht cruise around the Palm Island & Atlantis.
