With work underway the opening on the new InterContinental Muscat Hills Hotel Resort and Spa

will add to Oman’s growing number of 5 star properties.

The hotel is to be managed by InterContinental (IHG) under an agreement with part owners Pacrim Hospitality of Nova Scotia Canada whose directors have long been associated with the IHG group of hotels. Glenn Squires the CEO of Pacrim said in 2015 “We are pleased to be one of the partners in the InterContinental Muscat Hills and Spa at Muscat Hills, and we believe this project will be the first of several we will undertake in Oman”.

Muscat Hills director H. H. Rawy Kais al Said, owner of the Muscat Hills Golf and Country Club, commented, “When choosing a hotel partner we were looking for a top international brand that would add real value to the development and help us to compete with the best golf resorts in the world.”

The InterContinental Muscat Hills Golf Resort & Spa will cover over 56,000sqm land and will abut the greens of Muscat Hills Golf, whose new club house it will also manage. The hotel which will offer 250rooms with four food and beverage outlets along with business and leisure facilities will add to the existing Intercontinental Hotel in Muscat. With 2 Crowne Plazas in the city (there are other Crowne Plazas in Suhar, Ad Duqm and Salalah) and a Holiday Inn its clear that the IHG group look to cement their success in the country.

Expected to open by the end of 2019 the hotel will mean that tourists will now direct access to the 18-hole Muscat Hills Golf Course
