than to look at an Omani Green Turtle Chelonia mydas as she returns to the Arabian Sea near Ras al Hadd in Oman.
One of the larger birds in Oman is the Egyptian Vultures. They are also very dramatic with the adults black and white plumage. The ESO is supporting Ivaylo Angelov in a survey of the birds on Masirah Island.

As the 18th May is International Museum Day I thought
it would be nice to have a picture from Oman’s Land of Frankincense Museum in Salalah, probably my favourite Museum in Oman.
If you are interested in learning more about Frankincense, Oman is the source of Boswellia Sacra and my book ‘The Land of Frankincense’ has over 180pages about this mystical product and the land it grows in.
The 2012 TEDxMuscat was held in the Millennium Hotel Mussanah, so after a drive from Muscat it was great to get a nice cold drink – and snacks. Later TEDx organised a buffet and as usual at the Millennium it was excellent – Chinese style.
Oman does seem to be trying to develop a workforce who will be able to thrive in the new economy of today’s world. It seemed that the objectives of the day were to illustrate the power of creative thought, endeavour and importantly provide role models for the future entrepreneurs of Oman.
Dr Abdullah Al-Zakwani the Executive Director of Industrial Innovation Centre of Oman set the tone by emphasising some critical requirements of innovation and entrepreneurship.
