An Airbus A380 has landed at Muscat International Airport
coming in from the south.
It wasnt a scheduled arrival but a Qantas diversion from Dubai which was Fog bound. This happened on 2 days, 27th & 28th September – in both cases the Airline electing to use Muscat rather than Abu Dhabi which would entail an extra distance overall. Muscat’s new runway of 4,000meters is well in excess of the 2400meters minimum needed for an A380 to take off and the width is some 60meters with a massive apron. Doubtless these A380s wont be the last to arrive at Muscat.
