Turtle watching in Oman

during a holiday in Oman

After a short break in what will be one of Oman’s more popular destinations , at least for the locals, (though its intention is as a water storage dam)

turtle watching was the destination for our guests on their summer Oman Holidays. Watching the females lay under moonlight and then fortunately seeing the young babies scramble down to the sea is a great experience .

  1. Absolutely love Oman, was there in 2006 checked out both Muscat & Salalah backpacking through it all.

    1. Turtle watching is a real highlight of any visit into Oman and its great you will give it another go. We usually see them at any time of year – but last week we took a tour group to watch and for our first time ever the rangers in charge could not find one laying – so as we always say , it’s a natural event and no guarantees about seeing them.

    1. I was in Bahla yesterday – and it rained
OMG – the whole town (all the men) came to watch the wadi which was full as it rained as well up in Al Hamra
