One of the newer restaurants in Muscat is ‘La Fattoria Della Pizza” located in Madinat Qaboos within what is effectively the Kargeen Village. In fact, it turned out to be a Kargeen Restaurant as when we walked in the greeting was ‘Welcome to Kargeen’ and the Menu proclaimed the fact. We chose a Pizza with ‘ham’ (perhaps luncheon meat)and salami and I had a Pineapple and Mango juice. It was strange that in an ‘Italian Restaurant’ the Scottish couple next to us had Omani Shuwa suggested to them and it arrived in a traditional Indian ‘Haandi’ copper bowl.

The juice turned out to be the meal’s highlight. The pizza dough was nice, but the meat and sauce let the dish down. The manager asked if we wanted pudding, and suggested Banana Pizza which sounded unusual so we agreed, and also had ‘Karak’ tea which turned out to be really strong saffron tea.

The Banana Pizza was huge and its ‘sauce’ was something like Nutella (yep its originally Italian..) , rounding off our Italian meal.
That restaurant isn’t new is it? I swear Kargeen has always had pretty decent thin crust pizza (like if you like margartia pizza).
I think this opened a couple of years ago; though you may well be right. Its on the other side of the ‘garden’ from the original Kargeen. The Chef is Italian – but they seem to ferry stuff from Kargeen, including our change.
